In honor of the 40th anniversary of the release of Star Wars which occurred on May 25th (and is incredibly also the first time Candy felt Matt kick within her womb), today’s Throw Back Thursday is the Force Friday Toy Preview Sale that Matt and I attended.
Matt was surprised I wanted to go as the Toys R Us store would only open at midnight. He so the night owl in our relationship and I’m rarely up late, yet I really wanted to go. We got there hours early as had others. I did my hair in the best Leia buns and I and set off to somehow stay awake for the whole event.
While in line, I met two adorable girls who really brought their costume A game. They eagerly waited with their mom, however, their dad came to pick them up way before midnight so they would get enough sleep.
Inside we found a Snow Trooper from Hoth (the moon repesnted on Matt’s shirt) who posed with us.
Though we had had a place near the beginning of the line, it turned out our store has not received any BB9’s. We had to order one online and soon received this toy which at first scared, then layer intrigued Inky.
When it was time to see The Force Awakens in December, we all bought character 3-D glasses. That year we gave each other Star Wars stocking stuffers based on the “I love you. / I know.” exchnage from “Return of the Jedi”. He bought us matching rings (when we determined his didn’t fit I bought him a titanium one that did) and bought us the rebel alliance pendants and still wear mine to some political events.
