Our baby is 30 weeks today, the size of a large zucchini at 15 3/4 inches long and weighing almost 3 pounds. For comparison I put this week’s vegetable next to last week’s vegetable, the Butternut Squash.
S/he is surrounded by a pint of amniotic fluid, an amount that will decrease as s/he gets bigger.
Baby’s eyes can open at this point though vision would be 20/400, a long way off from the 20/20 s/he will have some months after birth.
As a use of Facebook I’d seen many people posing an Old Wives Tale that the solar eclipse would be dangerous for pregnant women, myself included to view.
Still, feeling confident it would not effect my baby or me, I went out with these ISO rated glasses to see what I could see, which due to my location in California was a three quarters covered sun. I’ll put the glasses in baby’s book to show him or her someday.
