Today several churches that reconciling ministries including my home church, Almaden Hills United Methodist Church attended The Silicon Valley Pride Parade to march in solidarity. Though months ago I had mulled over going, the heat and crowds let me decide to skip this far in my pregnancy. Our pastor, Mariellen, upon hearing this asked me to help her with our local service instead, and I happily accepted before I knew what my role would be.
This opening message on the screen helped set the tone of the service.
A few days ago Mariellen sent me my part. I would be up on the mini stage with her for Shout Outs. She and I would read from a script highlighting the good news of how reconciling ministries and Pride has been even more supported this year then in the past year.
As I’d never had an occasion to wear clip on hair since Mariellen had been our new pastor, she was very surprised and amused to see my hair at our rehearsal before church.
It was amazing how much I had happened to match the decor. My shoes matched her sash and even my dark shirt matched her main outfit.
The rainbow Pride flag colors which were used to drape the altar matched my rainbow accented hair.
Before and after service I got a lot of compliments on my hair and several people thought I had actually dyed my hair six new colors.
Hours later, with my clip ons long taken out, Candy came over and she, Matt and I went to Babies R Us to check out some bedding related to our whale theme. For the first time we parked in a Stork Parking spot and I had Matt take this photo to commemorate it.
I really like my profiles pregnant profile shadow, the only such photo I have to date.

Danielle, I had to laugh when I read that some people believed that you had dyed sections of your hair all those rainbow colors! Do you know just how time consuming that would have been? Yikes. Anyhow, I liked the clip-ons on you. Maybe pink and blonde is your color!

Lol me too and it was a few people! I’m getting my hair dyed anew for my shower in a week and a half, not pink though.
