Two of the first people I had shared the news of my pregnancy with were Shauna, who was a bridesmaid in my wedding and her fiancé, Jason. I was very excited for her wedding day, however, as it was a few weeks after my due date, I knew with a newborn that I not be able to attend. So, Shauna suggested Matt take Candy as his date. We happily accepted and were glad that Matt would be able to attend with a representative sent on my behalf.
Candy showed up in a stylish black dress and Matt wore an elegant brown suit that he had wore as one of three on our wedding day. We chatted for a bit before they had to leave and I made sure to give Candy her copy of the collage my Aunt Carol had made of some of the first cell phone pics we took of William.
While at the wedding Matt captured this stunning picture of Jason and Shauna dancing. I love how the strobe went off to create a dazzling effect above their heads.
This was the first time Matt had been gone during the day since I gave birth. It was good practice get good ready for when he returns to work in two weeks.
Katie came over to hang out with me and arrived a few hours after Matt had left. Her husband and son also came over briefly to hang out and drop off a lovely rocking chair. The chair is white, yet this photo taken at night with everything looking somber and with a bit of red over it looks peaceful and dreamlike to me. I look forward to many hours of rocking William the chair.
