William’s First NYE Parties

This year Matt, Candy and I found ourselves invited to two New Year’s Eve parties. Whereas in past years we had gone together to adults only parties at the San Jose Fairmont, this year we had originally decided to have a quiet New Years Eve at home.

Monica and Paul had invited us to their party a few months before, however, it was billed as an adults only party so we declined. However, upon seeing how well behaved he as at Matt’s birthday party, they invited him, also.

We were the first guests to arrive. The short car ride had made William quite sleepy.

So other guests followed. We stayed there. While eating, drinking, and mingling.

I put my special sunglasses near William. He made a few funny faces and this was the best one.

I could not believe my eyes at this sign on their wall. I’ve said something similar to others as a joke, and here it was in sign form.

I actually had bought another pair of glasses for the event and took a quick selfie of them.

Paul and Monica had their garage transformed with revolving lights. While this was meant to encourage dancing, Matt used it to rock William to sleep again in his car seat.

Then it was time to go to the party of our other friends, Tony and Annette. Their party featured a beautiful cake made by their 7 year old daughter complete with rock sugar decorations.

I couldn’t resist having Matt try on these Mickey Mouse ears with Christmas light decorations.

William though he was quite tired at this point still wanted to eat. I was allowed to nurse him in Tony and Annette’s bedroom, then he was tucked into his car seat and slept to an rain app on Matt’s phone. He slept their for the duration of the party over all the noise. Matt and I both took turns checking on him throughout.

I made sure to get photos with our party attire.

Matt wore a hat and Hawaiian lei put out by our hosts.

This was a kid friendly party with many kids present.

The kids were assembled on the couch for an upcoming group photo.

Tony and Annette posed for a photo.

A group photo was taken, since I’m way at the end the lens curvature makes me look bigger than I really am. Still it’s an adorable photo of those assembled.

It was wonderful having two very different parties to attend. We are blessed to have such wonderful friends to invite us out.
