William is Twelve Weeks / Three Months Old

Today William is twelve weeks or three months old. We’ve tried to read to him before this milestone and now and as the app suggests, he doesn’t always pay attention. Last week I tried to read him two books in a row, one of which I’ll be reviewing tomorrow He didn’t seem interested, in either book though as I had tried in part to give him an activity in case he was crying out of boredom. The app suggested that I should take cues from him when it’s time to read or not, and this is great advice I will follow.

Matt, Candy and I have taken turns reading to William. Matt read him “Are You My Mother” which he could have used the big reveal to tell him that his mom was sitting next to him, however, William lost interest in that book as well, and so Matt wisely stopped reading it.

I love how expressive he is with his faces. I took this photo at the grocery store yesterday. The timing for it was perfect, I had just found out they were out of an item that Matt wanted on his sandwich, and as this happened William woke up and made a pouting face. This was probably in response to having had his nap interrupted.

Joanna, who has taken care of him at the church daycare has told me more than once how very alert he is for his age. She says he is as alert as a four or five month old.

She also mentioned how very strong his grip is for his age. I agree, he’s always had quite the grip for his age.

Even half asleep, he sometimes tries to hold his own bottle. We definitely will try the training sippy cups with him when he is four months old so he can practice holding them, in preparation to move to a sippy cup when he is older.

This picture just cracks me up of Matt trying to get William to fist bump him.

I’m so happy that I have this blog to look back on and document milestones like his birthday. My Aunt Carol had asked if I had a scrapbook, and while I am planning on doing a light box frame with his going home outfit, bracelet and the hats he wore his first week, and a quilt with some my favorite outfits from his first year, I don’t have a paper scrapbook per se. In a way this is it, a great way to record things now and have for me and someday him to look back on .
