William is Twenty Weeks Old

It never fails to amaze me how fast the the time is growing with William. Even though his growing body and new expressions remind me, the time just flies by.  As friends have told us, if you blink it will seem like years have gone by and now he’s staring kindergarten. While that’s an exaggeration of course, it really is amazing how much time has elapsed.

Since birth, William has been a very expressive child. I truly love so much the range of his expressions in real life and the photos I’ve been able to capture. This one where he smiles a tiny bit as he grips me to show his love and slow down the diaper change (complete with part of his name in the background on the elephant Candy bought him) is one of my all time favorite moments with him so far.

He’s also great at reading the emotions of others. Here, he knew his dad was intensely doing something, and that same look of intensity is in his own eyes and face.

A baby’s laugh is one of the best expressions ever. Lots of things amuse him, including being able to grip his own toes. I wasn’t fast enough to truly capture this, yet he’s taking to grabbing and holding onto his toes, which truly delights him.

I’ve told people that he’s an intense child who does everything with gusto, even his sleeping seems full of emotion.

As I’ve learned babies just love new things. He really seems to enjoy running errands with us, at least till he is tired out. Though this hat was too big for him, we couldn’t resist trying it on his head.

He definitely enjoys being with us and in our arms. I wouldn’t say he’s started crying if we leave a room, per se, but he definitely will follow someone with his eyes and head if they go from one room to another.
