Every Monday since October 23rd has been a bit more special now as it’s a time to reflect on William’s birth and how much he is growing and changing. I get a lot of comments on him including how big he’s getting and what a happy baby he is, which he truly is most of the time.
William definitely enjoys gripping certain toys and holding onto them. When I have him on the changing table, he usually grips one or more toys so tight that I have to gently open his hand to stop his gripping to change him. One of his favorite toys is this ball, so simple and yet so attractive to a young baby.
He’s very definitive in what he likes and doesn’t. The sunglasses may be unbreakable, but to William they are also unwearable. He will wear them for just a few minutes without a fuss, and then try to remove them. Here he’s wearing rings like a bracelet ensemble.
He’s also so aware of everything. It just warms my heart to see all the wonderful bonding he does with Matt.
While the concept of a dad is far beyond what William can know now, with pictures like these I think he somehow feels the connection.
Try as I may, I can never get a really sharp photo of moments like these, yet I know William has a lot of fun at these times.
I really wish I could show William these photos someday and have him tell me what he was thinking and feeling.
In addition to being engaged with family members, he’s very engaged with his day care provider, Maribel. I love seeing them together.
William is being read to here from “Colores”, one of four English/Spanish board books I’ve sent to day care with him. As I’ve read most baby’s brains start at about six months to determine what language(s) they will process natively, I’m so grateful he’s getting so much Spanish spoken around him.
