Thirteen Weeks Along

This week I hit thirteen weeks and our baby is the size of a pea pod. For size comparison I used the brim of a baseball hat with a representation of a brain on the top. At the end of this week all of his or her main organ systems have developed.

This week our baby’s unique fingerprints have begun forming. Until this point the head has been the largest part of baby’s body, this week the rest of the body begins catching up.

According to some medical sources this week marks the beginning of my second trimester and others say that’s werk fourteen. I forgot to ask Dr. G this at my last appointment, so I do not know his opinion on this.

Those in my life who know I’m preganancy agree I have maternal glow and that my bump is still a little noticeable even under my loose maternity clothes.
