Yoga and Healthy Meals and Snacks Provided

Today marks a week and a half that I’ve been working an assignment at Company C. The company has quite a lot of great perks, things both fun and practical for their employees and contractors. Some of these have proven great for my pregnancy.

Company C has a lot of online and in person groups. The yoga group has free classes taught on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays taught at varying times by an employee. With my schedule I can attend on Wednesdays.

While yoga supplies are provided, some employees bring their own and I’ve brought on my  my own mat and bricks. The mat I have is an extra thick one which feels great on my feet and for my back.

It’s not easy to shoot a pic down at your own pregnancy bump, so this looks extra big in the angle – my bump in the mat pre class.

The class is very challenging and I found myself swearing a tad for the first time I can recall in a yoga class. The instructor and I chatted prior to my first class to give me some tips for modifying moves in my pregnancy including how to use the blocks and even a pillow, a new piece of equipment to me.

Additionally the provided lunches and snacks have been help to me. Some of the snacks are pure health food including a healthy selection of fruits, breads, nuts, drinks  and more.

The lunches are delivered by two great companies that provide individual corporate meals from different restaurants. The lunches include Indian, Italian, Asian, sandwiches, wraps and other choices.

My first day I had the butter chicken and drank Perrier and lots of milk, though I stopped thinking the former last week after learning it may have nitrates and switching to fruit infused Hint water which comes in non-BPA plastic bottles.

The meals include some great vegetarian and vegan options my favorite so far is the grilled portabella burger. I’m looking forward to the all veggie sushi for next Monday.

It’s amazing to work at a great place that does so much to keep employees happy and healthy. This is much appreciated by me as I progress in my pregnancy.
