Last Sunday as part of his Father to Be presents, Candy gave him “Your Baby’s First Word Will Be Dada” by Jimmy Fallon. This is the first children’s book we have received. In honor of this library starting book, it is my pick for this week’s book review.
The book back cover shows it’s charm in words and pictures. Jimmy is the father to a daughter who he tried unsuccessfully to convince to say Dada as her first word.
The book is clearly made to be read to or with children. The story is simple, an animal who is a Dada tries to get his animal child to say Dada.
Despite the Dadas best efforts the child animals make the sounds we normally associate with them.
I can picture children being enthralled with the different animal noises when they are very young, as well as helping make the animal noises themselves when they are a bit older.
It’s definitely a book Matt will be reading to baby in utero.
Since Matt is talented at imitating suddenly voices including some celebrities, I know he will have fun getting into the many characters.
The story even has a great ending that ties up the animal characters and provides a twist as well.
As this book is memorable and fun for adults and children alike, it receives rating five baby booties out of five.
