Today our baby in utero is 27 weeks old. S/he is about 2 pounds and 14 1/2 inches long, the size of one Romaine Lettuce. For comparison I put the lettuce us to a standard writing portfolio. Some sources say this is the start of the third trimester, while others say it begins next week.
Usually I post Baby Center’s food of the week, however, theirs was cauliflower which I’d used two weeks ago, from The Bump site,when I could not find a rutabaga. So I used The Bump’s food this week as well.
Many babies are head down a lot of the time at this point. At my last visit with Dr. G at 26 weeks and 4 weeks, a scan showed our baby was as well.
This week baby has major brain wave development.
S/he has somewhat of a set wake and sleep interval cycle, though this may change dramatically after his or her birth. There’s 90’days to go after today to reach 40 weeks along.
