Our cat, Inky, has been with us for several years, a true family member with a tail. I’ve read some women’s narratives that their pets knew they were pregnant early on, in some cases before the women themselves knew. With Inky, this was not the case.
Inky is very social and cuddly for a cat. Despite this even when I’m lying down the top photos aside, she’s rarely came up to the bump. Part of this may be me having to lay on my side for the last few months of my pregnancy.
In the last few weeks, we’ve been especially getting ready for baby. This included me separating out clothes I’ve received into sizes to account for how many of each size category I have. Inky showed only a little interest in the clothing.
We also have two infant car seats, both currently in the living room till our installation appointments, that Inky noticed after a few days.
I half expected her to jump into one of the seats, but so far she has not. She did get near the basinett I will be reviewing on Friday. My guess is while she knows there are diffenet objects in our home, and perhaps even that I’m diffenet myself, that she does not fully grasp that a baby will be here. I look forward to seeing her understand and welcome our newest family member.
