One of the great things about looking at older photos is using them to remember how things were, and then realizing all the great ways things have changed. In October of 2013 Matt and I joined four friends for a couples trip to Disneyland to celebrate Halloween early. We were met at the gate by Matt’s friend who he affectionately refers to as his cousin, Gary.
Two years later we would attend Gary’s wedding, and during the same weekend Matt proposed to me at a Disney resort. A year after that, Gary was our wedding officiant.
Before the trip I hadn’t been to Disneyland in years. I didn’t even own a pair of mouse ears, so I had Matt take a picture of me using my fists to represent ears. We later bought new ears for both of us in what is now a tradition for us to get new ones each visit.
We had a wonderful time time with couples Erin and Tim, and Alexis and Erick. Although none of the couples were engaged in 2013, since then all of us became engaged to our significant others and then married and Erin and Tim are expecting their first child in December.
One of the best parts was going to Mickey’s Halloween Party complete with characters, deviations and trick or treating.
We were also enthralled with all the amazing sights of the World of Color show.
It’s so fun to think that when we return to Disneyland next we will have our child with us. Perhaps even for A Christmas time when s/he is three or four.
