I had been told that William would receive a pediatrician visit the day after he was born. I was told that it might be Dr. V who is his official doctor, though it could be someone else depending on who was on call.
However, to my surprise and delight, it was Dr. V who showed up the first morning and told me he would be the pediatrician visiting William each day until my last day on the wing on which a partner of his would check in on me. When asked to pose for the photo above he commented on how cool it was that he and William were both wearing blue.
Dr. V did a few tests with him including checking his sucking ability, key to his eating, which was strong. From his APGAR Test given skin after birth which he got a 9 on (perfect is 10, a rare score) to his hearing test run by a tech, to the ones from Dr. V, he is a very healthy little boy.
Dr. V gave me a few tips on breastfeeding to help us along. It’s great that he gets so much attention in the form of well Baby daily checks.
