As of today William is fourteen weeks or three and a half months old. It’s amazing how time has flown. It makes me grateful that I have had a blog to record things to go back and reflect on later. As the tips below say, he definitely is smiling more now at real live things including seeing Matt and myself.
In this photo Matt put his sunglasses on William (who looks so much like his dad in this photo). I love his smile as he sees us checking him out and me taking his photo.
The fact that he sees color now is especially intriguing as so many of his toys have bright colors he can now appreciate.
It’s amazing to think that his world has gone from shades of black, white and gray to seeing more subtle color differences, such as the fact that the bear has white, brown, tan and black in it, or that the mat underneath him has all different colors in it as well.
As he gets older we have been encouraging him to explore and test out his arms and legs and what they can really do. He was unable to get to the bear, yet we could tell he definitely wanted to do so.
He’s probably about two months away from crawling, but you never know. Matt used this opportunity to let him see just how strong his arms are (with a little help from dad holding him up, of course).
William seems more and more alert and aware of things every day. When he first wakes it’s often making stirring sounds with his hands and feet and babbling noises that sometimes sound like he’s copying those around him or trying to, and other times just that he’s saying “ooo” or similar, and seems to think we know what he is trying to convey.
