The Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes is a product I’ve meant to review for a long time. It was a gift from Katie for my shower, one of the items on my registry. Both my aunt and cousin had recommended Baby Einstein products as wonderful ones to have for a growing baby.
The music box is very colorful on front and the handle is also colorful with beads that can be slid up and down the handle to make it very appealing for babies. Seven classic songs are played in what seems to be a random order.
There are three modes for the device. These are off (the open circle), on with a low volume, and on with a higher volume.
When it’s playing songs, the screen lights up different colors including green, red and blue. William definitely likes looking at the screen as it plays music, it was a bit hard to get him look at me instead of it for this picture.
Even when it’s not playing music he holds it close often as it’s one of his favorite toys.
Being that he’s teething, he’s also tried to see if it would be good to gum the edges or the handle.
I love how he holds it tight and cuddles with it.
I love how the toy can stimulate his sense of sight, touch and hearing, all at the same time.
The manufacturer recommends this toy for 3 months and up, however, we’ve used it ever since we came home from the hospital with him. He definitely shows more interest in it now then he did weeks ago.
I try to bring it along every shopping trip so he has something to entertain him. It’s been great at getting him to a calmer place if the reason he is crying is boredom.
Surprisingly, he hasn’t seemed to realize that he can start a new song if he hits the center button, however, I’m sure he will over time. I do wonder why there is not a fourth mode to play songs continuously, however, this may be to preserve battery power. For the many times we have used this device, we have not yet had to change the batteries.
