William is Nineteen Weeks

I feel like I could write every week, “Wow, I can’t believe how big William has gotten or how he is changing.” The tips for this week highlight learning through play, something he has definitely had positive exposure to.

Sometimes I wonder just how accurate the age recommendations for toys are. William has several balls I’m waiting to give him, but each says to wait till 6 months on it. So in the meantime, he has this great car to play with. He likes to nibble on it. I don’t think he’s discovered the wheels on the bottom make it go.

As I’m working during the day I can’t bond with him as much as I’d like. We definitely bond a lot on weekends when I tend to take him with me to run errands. This was from his first trip to the bank to talk a bit more about his personal account. (I’d set it up on a day and time in which  I did not have him with me).

I’ve joked with Mirabel that he has so much fun in day care, that it’s like Disneyland to him. I love how she sets up education items for him to look at touch and crawl to.

Sometimes it takes a bit more motivation than others for him to try. No doubt the sound of the pasta inside the bottle helped motivate him to try to move towards it.

These tips remind me that we don’t have specific blocks for him at home, and we should get some. He has many educational toys and it’s funny how simple ones like blocks can make a huge difference in his development.
