William’s Four Month Doctor Visit

I was fortunate that my schedule allowed me to attend William’s four month doctor visit during which he would, among other things, receive some more vaccinations. It began with him being weighed. I’m not sure what about this makes him cry, my guess is that the scale feels cold to him even with the diaper bad over it. He’s close to having doubled his birth weight of 7 lbs, 7 oz.

The nurse measured him in several ways including his head. He gets to be held for this one, so he only squirms a little bit for this part.

Matt was able to distract William a bit for his height measurement.

I always wonder what William thinks of when these are being done and what he would say if he could talk, probably wondering why the same tests are done every visit.

Then it was time to wait for the doctor to come in and finish the rest of the visit.

William rolled around and made it hard for Dr. V a bit, till he was able to finish his exam and let us know that William was still a healthy little baby. His height and weight are still along the same growth curve he has mostly followed since birth.

At this visit he only had two needle sticks, so while it still hurt, it was one less pain to have to have.

While it doesn’t take the pain away exactly, being held by someone you love can work wonders.

With that William is all set for doctors visits until he is six months and has to return for another well baby check up and more vaccinations.
