Fun Interacting with Older Kids

I’m an only child as are all of my cousins on my mom and dad’s sides. However, growing up it seemed like there were less only children then I encounter in today’s world. I’ve heard parents of onlies should make an extra effort to let them play with other children growing up to build their social skills and networks. One of the best parts about William attending day care three days a week and being looked after in the church’s nursery on Sundays is getting to meet other kids.

At church, it’s about 50/50 on when he will have other kids around. Sometimes he is the only child and other times there are one or more others to play with. This older child couldn’t resist trying to get William’s attention and later joining him on a lap photo.

At daycare Mirabel loves to celebrate. When a child she’d babysat for before was returning to visit the area, she got a helium tank to make lots of balloons. As usual, William enjoyed having balloons around him.

He loves the beautiful colors. Here he is happily holding a bunch by their strings.

Isabelle was so smitten with William. Every time he needed to be fed, she was rushing over to help him hold the bottle.

It warms my heart to see so many great photos of him enjoying being around kids on a regular basis. While he won’t grow up with a sibling, I’m sure he will grow up enjoying being around and relating to others of a similar age.
