This year for the first time since Matt and I had come up to the Pleasanton for the St. Patrick’s Day Beer Crawl, my birthday, which is on St. Patrick’s Day and the event were both on a Saturday. We were so excited to get to spend the weekend together for this with some friends and family. Candy even bought William a special outfit to mark the occasion.
William looked adorable and even wore a special hat.
Matt looked great with some extra green accessories as well.
This year we wore shirts that went together with a lucky theme and I added lots of green including glasses and a necklace from Matt as well as a green tutu and hair clips to be totally over the top.
One of the best parts of the pub crawl is never knowing which businesses from a retail side or beer side will be on it. This year we started with a new business and cider to the event, Hidden Orchards Apple Cider at Namaste Pizza. The latter even had mini pizza slices as their snack. The cider paired perfectly with it.
Along the way we ran into two of Matt’s high school classmates, Heather (center) and Olivia. Olivia is actually planning on running for office soon, and I wish her a lot of luck.
After hearing it was my birthday, Olivia, bought shots for the four of us, including Matt.
Businesses with roped off areas can serve beer within those confines. One business had the Blue Brew Bus ready to serve.
This was the first time I’ve ever been served from a bus before.
We all cracked up at this sign designed to catch the attention of the Pub Crawlers.
It wouldn’t be a ‘Crawl without a photo booth or two. I managed to have my eyes half closed and have my prop open on this one – instant classic!
We were joined along the way by friends as well. Steve joined us for a photo and this time we all had open eyes and props facing the right way.
Steve and his daughters, Abbie and Annie, came along as well.
After a few hours it was time to go back to Candy’s to celebrate my birthday with Paul and Monica. I took off my bracelet to show Monica and William decided to try to eat it.
As Matt was making his delicious and filling Guinness Stew, as is tradition for my birthday, I decided we didn’t need a huge cake. Instead we had cupcakes. Matt got me this special one.
It was great seeing friends and family. I had a memorable birthday.
