When I was growing up I had somewhat of a desire to be in band. I never played an instrument, though I did sing in choir in junior high and was a flag twirler for part of high school. I would like to inspire William to potentially learn to play an instrument or two. Part of this also stems from his Godbrother, Tyler, playing the guitar and drums. So when I told Maribel they had sent him something musically related that he’d get for Easter, I was intrigued when she told me she had him started in that direction as well.
Sometimes she directly guides his feet onto the soft keys to play notes.
Other times he will just use his own desire to kick a lot and to hear the pretty sounds.
It’s really amazing that she thought to use the xylophone in such a creative way.
Times like these I really wish I could have a full conversation with William to know what he thinks about all this.
Of course as he gets older and can sit up on his own, he may enjoy playing both sets of keys. I’m assuming there is something to strike them with as well.
I’m glad he is getting this first glimpse into making his own music. When Easter arrives, I hope he likes his new music making toy as well.
