The Day After Staying Up Too Late

After a night in which William and I both stayed up later than normal, I had a theory that William would wake up less during the night to breastfeed and that he’d sleep in longer. While I was wrong on both counts, both he and I ended up taking long naps in the afternoon today.

When he wasn’t napping, William had a lot of fun today with extra energy.

Matt kept trying to get him to face me for a photo, yet he kept wigging away looking this way or that and not at the phone camera.

Since he has no idea I’m taking his picture, it cracks me up when it’s so hard to get his attention.

I was trying to get a photo of him grabbing for and holding his toes. He can do it even with his leg straight out. However, he won’t do it for any length of time, so I kept getting movement instead.

Eventually he wore himself on my lap after we did a late afternoon feed.

I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to frame him with my hand for this photo. He was so tired that I was able to pull out my hand gently from under his head and get this.

Later that night, again he was fussy like last night. I could see him rubbing his eyes and being tired when I gave him a bottle of formula.

He did get to sleep at his normal bedtime for which I was grateful.
