William is twenty six weeks old today, making him six months old or half a year in age. Where has the time gone? Even people who were there with me the week I gave birth are amazed at how fast this has all felt. William is a spirited, active, determined baby who I love watching grow and develop.
He’s definitely a baby on the move having perfected rising up on his arms now for a while. Sometimes he will move his legs a bit, and yet, he’s still not quite ready to crawl yet. He did enjoy looking at the adorable part of his face in the mirror.
He’s also been extra drooling, fussing and chewing lately. Sophie is the toy we give him generally for this as it has the most surface area.
Candy who is home watching him today texted me to let me know that one of his bottom teeth has broken the surface, which is his first. She thinks another next to the first tooth will not be far behind.
I remember being big and pregnant over the summer. That experience made me a huge fan of the shade. William has lots of shady areas to hang out at day care including on this patio. It was great to share moments hanging with him and Mirabel after work on Friday.
It continued to be a hot night, so I put him down for bed in just a diaper. He woke up hourly to nurse, so I put him in his Sleep Sack, and then he slept for several hours.
When he goes to church nursery the teachers always comment on how much he’s growing. He prefers staying up and playing now to sleeping at those times.
After too many leakage problems, we left size 2 diapers behind with excellent results. I found I had a few size 2 left in my diaper bag for church, so I gave them to the teachers for other babies to use. Just look at the size difference.
As he grows our selection of clothes does as well. Hes so cute in his little preppie outfit.
Six months brings fun new things as well. I have a few toys I’ve waited to give him, and tonight we will start solids (the topic of another blog entry in the near future). It’s fun watching him progress.
