Matt and I almost always do grocery shopping on Sunday evenings. Tonight he told me as William was almost six months (his official day being six months is tomorrow), that perhaps it was time to shop with him sitting up more. At first, I thought Matt meant in the stroller without the car seat, but he meant directly in the cart top basket part.
I put down his blanket so he’d have a familiar texture and for comfort. He really didn’t know what to make of it at first.
He’s securely strapped in (the angle makes it hard to see the strap), and yet he’s not fussing or fighting. This was due to him being very tired.
Upon reflection, we decided with it being so close to his bedtime, he was better off riding in the car seat in the stroller. First, Matt had a cute few moments with him.
This way really does allow for some great bonding moments to be close literally and physically.
It definitely was the right thing to move him back to the stroller. In his last few moments sitting in the cart, he was able to lean quite a bit while still strapped in.
William seemed OK with being put in and strapped in again.
While the directions on the cart do say six months and up, I’m glad we decided he wasn’t quite ready. Perhaps in another week or two and with going at an earlier time, he will be.
