Products Review – ROQ and URKOAZ Silicone Wedding Bands

Every Friday I will review a product, and in some cases two similar products, that relate to pregnancy or parenthood. This first review will be on a category of product I have a lot of experience with, silicone wedding bands. As is the case with many women, pregnancy has swelled up my fingers, and wanting to continue to wear bands without having to worry about it being cut off, I tried many different bands.

I was especially intrigued by ROQ Metallic Rings for many reasons. The women’s rings come in a set resembling copper, yellow gold and silver. They have a beveled edge for comfort and often really do look like their heavier and more expensive metal counterparts. The set is currently on sale for $10.00 for the three.

A coworker noticed my silver one complimenting me on it and was shocked when I showed her it wasn’t really metal by twisting it. They do look very realistic, to the point where each of the set has striations and painted dings to make it look like it look they are older and banged up a bit.

The copper ring in my set has the most banged up parts, which is probably why I wear it the least. Ironically the silver band, which resembles my actual wedding band color the most, has the least striations and dings, and that one is almost always on my wedding ring finger.

The rings are incredibly comfortable, so much so that I often have to check to make sure et hey’re on my finger.

Having purchased the metallic rings, I also wanted rings with more fun colors. I looked around and considered many alternatives before being very intrigued with these UROKAZ rings. Unlike other rings I have seen in my research, these are composed of two bands – a thin band and a thicker one, the thin one fitting into the thicker one. Due to the thickness, the thick one could in theory be worn without a secondary color band inside, while the thinner one could not.

By buying at least two band combos of the same size, the middles can be mixed to create several color combinations. The rings are pricier than the ROQ and a few other styles I’ve seen at $11.99 each. There are several dozen combinations of outer and inner ring colors, it was hard to just pick three to start.

The colors the rings come in are just amazing, and even with just three color combinations, have quite a few options, including black and orange, the team colors of The San Francisco Giants.

It would have been nice had the inner rings been wearable just by themselves, though for logistical reasons, it probably isn’t possible. The middle rings do fit after being snapped in, yet even when they are put in correctly sometimes a bit will protrude and hang over the edges a bit. The rings are also not as comfortable as the ROQ ones, which perhaps have spoiled me for other similar rings. The rings also feel more overall rubber like.

Still, the bright colors, many of which are hard to find in other styles and all the choices make this a good value especially if you collect a few to have a few color options.
