Week 20 – Size of a Banana

This week our baby is the size of a small banana which works out to six and a half inches long. (Though the banana is flatter than vegetables of other weeks including a Bell Pepper and Heirloom Tomato, it’s the length that is being used to measure not the width or roundness of the shapes). For comparison of fruit size, I put the banana next to two pics of my 20 week scan.

Our baby’s is practicing swallowing more this week which is good  practice for using his or her digestive system. I wonder what baby thinks of the varied meals I have through lunch at Company C including some spicy Indian ones. I’ve even found my own taste buds muted which has me resisting Matt to turn up the spice in the dinners he’s made.

Dr. G measured my bump for the first time on Friday as many books suggested he would at this point. This is to help him visualize baby’s size, development and position.

44 year old mother to be, delightedly expecting our first baby with my husband, Matt, and our mischievous cat, Inky. Estimated Due Date - October 27, 2017, though doctor plans to do a C-Section earlier. I love sports (Go Giants! Go Sharks!), photography, the beach, WWE, reading and now looking at our ultrasound pics. Our baby is upside down in our 8 week one I'm using as an icon, almost like s/he is mooning us, ;).
