On Saturday Matt, Candy and I, along with many other guests helped Katie and Cliff celebrate their wedding anniversary at the Elk’s Lodge in San Jose. The number 17 was significant in that the date of their anniversary was the 17th, this year is 2017, and having married in 2000, this was their 17th anniversary as well. Cliff planned the party as a surprise to Katie who did not know he had organized a party and invited so many of their friends to celebrate with them.
During his speech to the guests Cliff explained the significance of the number 17 to him and his marriage, and he concluded by thanking Katie for always being there to love and support him. It was a beautiful moment appreciated by all who had gathered together.
As another surprise, Cliff had his brother, who is in Japan call in to address the party. He had performed their wedding ceremony and said a special prayer over the couple.
Katie and Cliff shared a special anniversary dance to a song that had played at their wedding.
I couldn’t wait to see how the gift we had ordered for them turned out.
This will now hang in their home.
During the party Katie’s friend Alisa found out I was expecting and offered me a chance to hold her four month old daughter, Riley. Matt, Candy and I all took turns holding her, she has a strong grip and winning toothless smile.
It was so much fun to celebrate this occasion with Katie and Cliff and their friends and family.
