Remembering Aunt Bev – Throw Back Thursday

Two days ago my family lost someone very dear to us, Matt’s Great Aunt Beverly. Matt, I, and a few in our family knew her affectionately and simply Aunt Bev. When this Easter it was time to tell my extended family our pregnancy news, it was so great to be able to tell her and Uncle Harvey and I know she was so happy for us and looking forward to meeting our child. Cancer may have cut her life short, but today’s Throw Back Thursday is dedicated to the happy memories I have of her.

Aunt Bev was a kind, giving and fun loving person. The holidays spent at her house were some of my favorite ever. Even with a house full of people, she made every person feel welcome and important.

She had a nonstop smile on her face for my bridal shower and I was so happy she made the long commute to see me.

On our wedding day we made sure to visit every single table. Though we did get to every guest, we did spend more time with some of our favorite people. I love seeing how in the moment, emotional and happy she was for us both which you can see in these photos.

Bev was the kind of woman who was one of everyone’s favorite relatives. I can only remember her saying kind things about everyone and in every situation of life. Our lives are so much richer for having had her in our lives. Though our baby will never met her, we will make sure s/he knows what a wonderful woman she was.
