Matt and I wanted to find just the right daycare for the three weekdays a week William will be watched by a professional. We found a great in home daycare run by Maribel who has been a provider for many years. She really understands kids of all ages and suggested a half time day for him this week to help him transition.
I love the incredibly bright smiles he gives her. It is clear he feels safe and well provided for. Maribel will speak both English and Spanish sentences to him so he will be exposed to both languages at the same times
She had asked me to bring an object that smelled like me to help him feel like I was close by. I brought this T shirt that I love wearing and had not washed for a few wearings do retain scent.
I also gave Maribel his whale topped blanket to add to the smells from home to add to her baby rocker.
Soon it was time to let him bond with her for his four hour transition visit. While I ran errands that are a bit easier to do without a baby including running to the bank and shopping he was all smiles at day care.
It was so wonderful to get these real time photos of him.
In the four hours he was even able to get in naps.
He really seemed to appreciate having things that smelled familiar to him while he slept.
Maribel even sent me a description of his day.
It’s great that we have a daycare provider that we trust as I will be returning to work on January 2nd. I look forward to my new job and know he will be in safe hands with Candy on Mondays and Tuesdays and Maribel from Wednesdays to Fridays.
