William amazes me literally every day with how he’s developing. One of the most interesting parts of his development is seeing him grab onto things and use them to take a few tentative steps.
Although the proper use of this toy is to sit in and play with the toys in the ring around him, he’s managed to use the toys to stead him as he explores it from the outside.
As far as I know children develop skills in part due to the ability of their bodies to do so and in part due to motivation. In William’s case, I think a lot of the motivation comes from attending daycare three days a week and seeing the boys engage in tasks he cannot do at the present time including standing unassisted, walking, running and playing with toys and other things. As it’s been hot lately, one day when William was not there, Mirabel had the other boys have fun with her garden hose and sent Matt and I photos.
The two boys seem to be having an amazing amount of fun. If William had been there he definitely would have had fun watching and calling out to them.
At daycare the children have many activities including making crafts as they did for Father’s Day.
Though William did work with Maribel to make a craft, he was too young to sit at the table and work with paints on his own. He definitely seems to be wondering about that in this photo.
Still, as he’s changing and growing the day is coming soon when he can join in more. I know he will have more fun at home and daycare when he is able to do more physically.
