Anatomy Scan

This week I had two baby related appointments. The first was was Maternal Fetal Medicine and has many names. It’s known as a 20 week scan though it’s possible to have it done from 18 – 20 weeks 6 days, an anatomy scan, a detail scan and in some places and countries the anomaly scan. To me calling it the detail scan makes lots of sense as they do take many pictures of details of the bay including this one which is the feet, which I wouldn’t have been able to figure out for posting purposes had it not been labeled for me.

Walmart Prenatal Box Overview and Aveeno Skin Relief Review

One trend that is very popular recently is sample box clubs. Subscribers receive on a regular basis samples often without knowing which ones in advance. As a former member of makeup sample clubs, I was intrigued by the idea of Walmart’s Baby Box Club.

Club Autosport Opening and Sushi Making Class – Throw Back Thursday

Several ago I worked on a very part time basis photographing weddings. It was a lot of fun and I met some wonderful people both at them and through networking events. In 2012 one of these events included the 4th Anniversary for Club Auto Sport, a venue that both rents beautiful luxury cars to its members and also had events in which guests could see amazing cars they may never see anywhere else. I’d been told the event was dress as you like and after seeing a beautiful dress on my way day after day I knew I’d be wearing it for the event. In honor of their ninth year anniversary coming up tomorrow, this event is  half of my Throw Back Thursday.

Stanford’s Free Skin Cancer Screening Clinic

A few years ago I’d heard, correctly, that Stanford offers free skin cancer screenings once a year. Since people I knew including my mom had had suspicious moles removed, and as I have lots of freckles and some moles it seemed like a good idea to go. All was good, yet they recommended especially as someone with fair skin that I consider getting annual screens. A few weeks ago something reminded me of that opportunity and I saw to my surprise it was coming up soon. So on June 3rd, prior to celebrating Candy’s birthday with her, I was able to get in another free cancer screening.

Gwendy’s Button Box – Book Review

One of my favorite authors from Childhood was Stephen King. I read “Eyes of the Dragon”, “Carrie” and “Firstarter” perhaps at younger ages than I should have and multiple times each. I was eager to read his novella collaboration with Richard Chipman, “Gwendy’s Button Box”.

Week 19 – Size of an Heirloom Tomato

This week our baby is 18 weeks along which is the size of an heirloom tomato. While smaller than the bell pepper of a week ago it, and the baby, are longer in length at 6 inches. For size comparison, I put my Faith rubber wristlet on top of the tomato.

Adding Cloud Island at Target to Baby Registry

Soon after I posted my Pregnancy Questions and Answers post, a friend who read it told me that Target was soon releasing a gender neutral line of baby items called Cloud Island. Intrigued by the idea, Matt and I went to Target today to see if we should add them to the places where we are registered which includes Buy Buy Baby which I blogged about as well. Target does not have consultants who help you select items, they just give you a scanner to scan items.

Yoga Mat and Blocks – Product Review

For the past few weeks I’ve had the option to utilize yoga for exercise with a small class twice a week at Company C. Last week our instructor was unable to lead our class so we had off, and I definitely missed it, and my back was sorer for not having the class. So, with definite delight and gratitude that our classes are back on, I’m reviewing two products that have helped make the class better for me: Balance From GoYoga All Purpose 1/2-Inch Extra Thick High Density Anti-Tear Exercise Yoga Mat with Carrying Strap and Sturdy and Dense Foam Yoga Block (set of 2)  – Purple Color, Slip Resistant, 3x6x9.
