With the exception of the one night before Christmas Eve, when Candy took William up with her to give Matt and I a night to sleep without distractions, William has always slept in the same room as me. He’s slept in his bassinet and in a portable crib. I’ve nursed him on our bed,yet never let him be bundled up onto our bed. One night I’d finished nursing William when Matt suggested we let him get under the covers for just a few moments.
As a child one of my favorite books was Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, I even remember enjoying it so much as a young adult when it was read in part at a graduation ceremony I attended. So I was excited to get Oh, Baby, the Places You’ll Go! A Book to Be Read in Utero as a baby shower book.
As time goes on William amazes use every week with how big he’s getting and how very animated as well. This week’s description definitely sounds like him especially in temperament.
For many years I’d watched the Super Bowl at some sort of party. Matt and I had gone to a few together, and had even thrown a few. This year we decided to try something different, using the money we would spend on a party to go to a party at a restaurant right outside the 49ers Stadium. At first, we were planning on bringing William. I was told I could, however, as we got closer to the day, we agreed it would be too loud and chaotic for him, so he stayed home with Candy to watch the game and cheer on his temporary favorite team, The Philadelphia Eagles. I love how he even looks like a football player all bulked up with shoulder pads for this one.
Today we had a lot of fun putting William on his puzzle mat. For the first time that I can remember he did the all arms and legs spread out position that I sometimes do to spread out while sleeping that Matt and I joke is acting like a starfish. I made a collage of some of his moments trying to roll completely over with and without help to show Candy.
With William clearly teething, I decided to buy him some smaller and easier to hold teething toys. Ashton Bee’s Organic BPA Freezeable Teething Toys were an Amazon Best Buy Pick and with five of them in a package for a low price, I had to give them a try.
A little over a year ago, on January 29, 2017, I set foot for the first time in what would become my home church. For about six months prior to this, different people from my mom to my hairdresser, and even a pastor on the radio asking his audience (in general) were asking me when I would return to a church for regular attendance. It had been years since I had attended Menlo Park Presbyterian with Colleen on a regular basis, and I knew I’d have to find one someday. That someday became an actual day when my friend Amber asked me and suggested I attend Almaden Hills United Methodist Church. She promised I’d love it, and I knew it was something special when I walked in and this was the first hymn played.
